Commercial Description:
This beer is fermented with ale yeast and lactic acid bacteria, giving it a sour flavor. it is usually served with a shot of raspberry or woodruff syrup to cut the sharpness of the lactic acid, so ask for it red (raspberry) or green (woodruff) or even with a shot of chambord

Clarkvv hooked this awesome juice up. No head, no bubbles, and no nonsnese. Smells like lactic acid, fruit, and grass. Taste is pure bliss. Tart and wheaty. Could pound this all day long.

Light straw color. White head that left very fast. Tart, vinious wheat aroma. Flavor is tart, sour and raw. I have no problem with sourness, but there needs to be something to go along with it. This is just plain sour. Hugely mouth puckering and acidic. Actually something that I’d rather have a full pint of than just a 3 oz taste. Guite refreshing and enjoyable, but leaves wanting in the depth department.

Growler shared by Clarkvv on 8/4/06. Pours is a clean crisp lightly yellow alsmost clear, light vanilla like color with a small fizzy head. Nose is lightly sour with some light hints of fruit. palate is thin and crisp, quite refreshing. Flavor is more of the light fruit notes, some apples and peaches like notes and a crisp clean finish.

Growler consumed on 8/4/06.
Little to no head, which fizzles rapidly in to nothing, leaving no lacing. Unfiltered body is lightly hazy and a very pale, soft peachskin color. Some light bubbles trail upwards.Soft nose, very understated, I guess.
Apples, lactic acid, strong wheat and just a touch of grassiness. Some lemon and lime emerge as it warms, but very reserved even after sitting out for a while.
Tart flavor, fully lactic at the start and then moving in to a clean, dry, nutty wheatiness and very light pils-like malt dryness. Extremely attenuated and well-done. Not worty in the least. Some hard mineral character builds up, but I don’t find the lactic acid to overpower in the least. Almost like a mix of plain and vanilla yogurt in terms of strength of the yeast. Spritzy, but relatively quite light on carbonation. Very light body, smooth, even wheaty texture with some lemon on the end. Ridiculously quenching and drinkable (I drank 3 glasses in about 5 minutes).

Pint at The Tap. I passed on the syrup or chambord. Soft nose. Had to dig to get aroma. Citrus, cardboard/paper. Clean pale yellowy gold color, small to no head. No lacing. Big sour tart flavor. Lime, cardboard. Lite body, thin kind of syrupy mouthfeel, dry sour finish. Man if you like sour you should like this. Don’t know if this style is known for having a big aroma, but was not very strong. I did enjoy it though
