Commercial Description:
10%abv, 35 ibu's Our very strong lager made especially for the coming icy winter was named for Admiral John Franklin's ship that was caught in ice while looking for the northwest passage in 1845 where everyone died of lead poisoning and scurvy. Erebus was cold fermented over three months.

clear golden, tiny bubbles, frothy white head, sweet malty aroma with a musty funk, sweet candy flavor, lots of bitterness, light alcohol burn, quite rough around the edges

Tap @ The Tap. Pours a reddish gold with no head and served in a brandy snifter. Nose is musty with fresh caramel. Flavor is sweet but continues with an almost saison like quality of pleasent barnyardy hay with a nice funky twang. Reminded me of La Chouffe but with further caramelization. It was a delicious sipper.
