Commercial Description:
Want some hops but to still keep your taste buds intact? This American Pale Ale is the choice for you. WIth light floral notes and a good dose of Glacier hops, this well-balanced APA is a great step up if you want to graduate your palate. It's also great with fried seafood and burgers. 30IBU

On tap at the brewpub. Clear gold with a white head. Sweet orange and tangerine nose. Flavor follows, with some sweet caramel. Solid.

Pours well: good spotty lace. Nice initial head that settles to a single layer of bubbles. Clear. dark golden color. I like this smell very much. Great balance of paler and dry malts and a flowery, but bitter hop nose. This is highly hopped APA, far more than the aroma would indicate. Relatively thin with a high level of carbonation. Quite dry--the finish reflects this. So, this beer starts bitterly and ends with a malt-hop blend.

Pours deep amber into a shaker. Off-white head recedes to barely skim surface. Sweet caramel and mild citrus aromas. Creamy bitter hops from front to back with a balanced caramel middle. Lasting grapefruit rind finish.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub, this is also part of their bottle lineup. It is hoppy, its the IA for some. Craftful as only 30 IBU, Glacier and Cascade hops. Golden-orange colour with lacing. Above average carbonation and average mouthfeel. Good drinkability, but it is one dimensional hoppy, underperforming the very best APAs where citrus is tangible.

In short: Sugary caramel and resinous woody bitterness. More IPA than APA. Good, not very good.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: C golden copper body topped by a long-lasting small beige head
In long: Nose is very hoppy with fruity and floral notes. Big crunchy caramelized malts with notes of brown sugar followed by a strong resinous woody bitterness. Body is full but not round or rich, this is a crunchy malt profile. Finish is a fight between dry tree bark and brown sugar sweetness. Overall this is not a refreshing beer and it matches most IPAs in intensity. Well balanced. Nothing particularly interesting. An enjoyable beer, I’m glad I visited the pub, it’s not everyday I can enjoy a homerun, I rarely get passed first base.

En fût. Pinte dégustée chez The Tap (Haverhill, MA). (Rating #1689)

bottle. Apparently recently in bottles. Reading the reviews below, something definitely went different with the bottled version. Pours a deep, dark amber with a thin off-white head. No golden or amber color here- VERY dark. Not bad appearance per se, but as a "pale ale"? completely off the mark. Nose of heavy toasted caramel malts and some light citric lemon notes. Flavor develops more floral notes, some light cut grass and flowers. Mild bitterness. Full, semi sweet toasted caramel malt notes. Well rounded and balanced flavor. Full and creamy palate with light, even carbonation. Overall a decent brew, though the bottled version has some major appearance flaws.
