Soft vanilla pefume nose with underlying notes of corriander, orange zest and hints of yeast. Nice orangey spice flavors up front that turns lightly tart midway through. Room temp brings out a very smooth breadiness that rounds this out well. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, spiced, citric finish. A pleasant suprise here as I thought this was top notch. Next time a 6 pack will hit the road (air) with me... hopdog (5609), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Aromas of lemons, coriander (and other spices), yeast, and some wheat. Tastes of lemons, orange peels, wheat, and spices. Has a nice and enjoyable tartness to it. This one took me by surprise! shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA

For all sad words of tongue and pan, the saddest are those "It might have been." ?Whittier ... There are no regrest with Wittier White. This wheat beer with citrus undertones is a coll breeze on a hot day. You will want to keep this taste of summer even when you are snowbound.
9/04/2007: Haverhill Brewery Wittier White Belgian Style White Ale has a near perfect Wit appearance. It is a cloudy pale yellow that looks nearly white with a large bubbly white head on top that lasts and lasts and lasts. The visible carbonation is modeate and the remaining crown leaves some heavy lacing on the glass. The aroma is wheaty with some lemon citrus and delicate spice (coriander). Excellent refreshing and crisp flavor that includes tart citrus (lemon and bitter orange), some wheat and yeast, coriander and a hint of peppery spice in the the tart and slightly sour predominately fresh-squeezed lemon-flavored finish. This beer is light and crisp on the palate with a spritzer-like level of carbonation. The tartness and mild bit of sourness keeps inviting taste after taste! This is probably one of the nicest and best crafted and balanced regular American-made Wits that I have had lately!
12 fl. oz. bottle (5% alc. by vol.) from ClarkVV. Thanks Clark! Rating #16 for this beer... thornecb (1801), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 8, 2007 Looks like I’m in the minority on this one. I wasn’t overly impressed with this beer. Good yeasty aroma that I’d expect in a Witbier. The citrus flavor was a bit lacking for me. Finish was not memorable either - somewhat bland. Perhaps this batch I bought was aged. I’ll have to try it again. BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA

Spicy clove and coriander aroma, with a little citrus as well. Flavors are of primarily yeast, sweet wheat and some tart acidity. Very nice finish, with a great balance of spices and residual sweetness. One of the more memorable wits I’ve had. 2beerguys (299), North Shore, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 14, 2007 The Whittier White pours a very cloudy, pale yellow color with a large, white, frothy head. Good lacing. It shines with its aroma, which is filled with banana and clove notes, and a sharp hint of lemon. Initial taste is heavy sweet, simmering down to a moderately sweet finish with a short duration. Hints of lemon in the finish, the flavor seems to evaporate. Light to medium bodied, it has a watery to creamy texture with lively carbonation.
Yet another solid entry from The Tap, the Whitter White does a couple of things very well, with both its clearly defined aroma and its sweet yet clean finish. Amber was reminded of the smell associated with perms with the chemical presence.
