Commercial Description:
Cloudy because of the raw wheat used and yeast in suspension. This beer is light, refreshing, and a little bit tart, spiced with coriander, curacao, orange peel, and a top secret brewing spice. This is our rendition of a Belgian witte perfect on a hot summer day or with a bowl of mussels. 20 IBUs

on tap-pours a lumpy/blotchy white head that laces and cloudy yellow/orange color. Aroma is banana, clove, wheat, raw back fill comes thru occasionally. It was nice to see the write up that referenced raw wheat. Taste is strong banana, spices, clove, wheat, yeast, citrus. OK carbonation. Occasional.

This offering from The Tap was my favorite of the night I visited. It pours a foggy dark lemon that leaves a sticky white head. The aroma is lemon, wheat, honey, with some spicy hops. The taste starts malty and sweet, the mouthfeel is creamy and delicious. The sweet lemon spiciness of coriander, orange zest, is so nice. This wit is thenbalanced with a nice hop kick that falls back on that wheat bready twang. This is a great wit one that I’m glad I had the pleasure of tasting.

Tap. Pours a hazy yellow/gold with a very nice white head. Nose is sweet and citric with some banana scents. Flavor is mixed breed-hefeweizen and wit or a witweizen, but I didn’t mind the blend one bit. Delicious and creamy with sweet and sour notes as well as the spiciness with a little Chiquita. Definately would have another!

Growler from dirtymike: Murky yellow with a thick chunky white head, lemon spices (cumin) and orange in the aroma, medium bodied with a fizzy mouthfeel, starts and ends very lightly bitter. A great Witbier.

Had at Milly’s Tavern. Beer is not out yet, but Mike gave a group of us a sample of it today.. Big foamy head on top of a cloudy yellow color. BIG LEMON taste. Mike also said he put some cumin in there to give it an interesting taste. The mouthfeel is slightly fizzy at first, but quickly smooths out. Very nice-a!

I guess it was a good enough hit at BCTC, as this is now a rotating offering at the brewpub, which I had a pint of on 1/7/06.
Rosey as dawn and flecked with shimmeringly brilliant white gold and almond flesh tones. Fully cloudy, very homogenously so, with a fluffy, medium-sized snow-white head atop that seems to be stuck to the beer and glass. If the lacing or retention is not quite up to snuff (and I’m not sure that it isn’t), the captivating color on the beer more than makes up for it.
The aroma boasts soft, light sugars mixed with a playful bubble gum ester, hints of banana puree dropped in to a vanilla and wheat germ milk shake. Coriander ringing forth with a fresh and drying presence, though not as dominant as it apparently was at BCTC. Yeast livliness adds a playful white pepper and soft dough note, while dry lemon zest and star fruit skin glitter amongst the wheat back-drop.
The flavor combines an elegant balance of dry, lightly creamy wheat and fresh, green coriander. Lemon and bubble gum are quick to approach, but a snappy Belgian yeast, more white pepper-like notes and perfectly timed malt sugars comfort the palate. Ends rather boisterous, perhaps a little too heavy on the coriander acidity/tartness as it wears on. The carbonation is quite lively, bubbles a bit too large, with some lemon and unripened tangerine notes really being showcased a touch too dominantly. No alcohol apparency. Lively, touch watery texture. The wheat dosent add as much chewy texture as I would have expected. If they could get some more substantial texture from the wheat and tighten the carbonation, this would surely be one of the prime American examples out there.

Hazy yellow color with a ring of white lace. Interesting aroma of coriander and other spices. Good flavor of lemon, coriander and other spices. The body is medium with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. Quite refreshing and well-done.
