My personal experience is that the bottles taste a lot better than cask.
Great shame that it’s been made virtually extinct by Theakston’s Cool Cask which is a very average ale. I can’t find the bottles on anymore anymore :( and only know one pub with it on tap.
I guess it’s not so popular because of it’s low alcohol content. Sometimes it’s good just to have a great tasting beer. It doesn’t have to always be about getting drunk quick. Too often breweries are replacing great light beers with super strength crap.
