Cask, The Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Oadby. Amber with a white bubbly head. Aromas are smooth caramel with floral notes and fruity melon. Flavours are toffee malts and fruity citrus with a dry finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 30/3/08. A standard session bitter with a sweet edge. Amber with a decent white head. Did not stand out but perfectly drinkable.

Cask at The Penny Black,JDW, Bicester, Oxon, 29-03-08 Mid amber pour with a good white bubbly head, in fact a pretty good looker. Some strawberry cream in the mouth with a layering of light vanilla, I suppose like one of those biscuits with a creamy vanilla filling. Lacking in the bitterness stakes or hops but its fine, gets a bit furry in the mouth after a while.

Cask at Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford, at ’Spoons Real Ale Festival. Amber. Virtually no aroma, or is there some malty sweetness? Taste is initially thin: a bit of biscuit and underarm malt lurking somewhere. Citrus at the front. late grassy bitternes, but there’s not enough here to impress.

Bottle. Aroma malty and sweet. Classic amber with small head, flavour caramel malts with a hoppy Goldings tang on the swallow. Not bad, not great - might have to try this one on tap.

Nice deep amber colour. I got peat/smoke quite strongly throughout this one. Hops on finish.

Cask conditioned @ South Western Arms, Soton. Sweet malty toffee. Watery body. Light earthy hops. Poor.

amber colour, fairly standard bitter but hidden behind it was something unusual a toc of menthol? I liked this.
