Apr 14, 2004 Cask conditioned. Great spicy and flowery aroma and full-sized bitter palate. Really refreshing and amazingly dry.

Oct 1, 2004 Very dark brown with a thick fine-grained tan head. Malty and toffeeish with a load of dry-hopped aroma. Spicy hoppiness and a hint of resiny oiliness. Well-balanced. A bit of fruit and a very good session beer.

Nov 7, 2007 Nice deep amber colour. I got peat/smoke quite strongly throughout this one. Hops on finish.

Jan 15, 2004 Cask Conditioned at The New Inn, Appletreewick, Yorks. Amber coloured with thick Yorkshire head, looks good. Little aroma initially, but later has a spicey pepper note, thin malted, dry fairly standard bitter.

Aug 18, 2005 [cask at theakstons brewery] light amber colour with a moderate head. Aroma is fruity, citric hops with buttery caramel notes. body is light with some butteryness in the finish.
