A great disappointment, I expected better than this from Theakston’s. Bring back Theakston’s Best Bitter.

Cask, or is it keg? Soapy brown appearance with nitro head. Death by freezing beer, sharp harsh and confused. The hops can herdly get going. Is this really Theakston or the work of the Ampersand group?

Bottle. Hard mouthfeel - beneath the carbonation the beer is lifeless. Minimal hops. Vanilla notes Looks nice - tastes shite.

I really don’t see the point of this. Take a cask ale and serve it chilled to within an inch of its life (it certainly seemed colder than the 10C claimed) and through a sparkler so tight that it comes over almost identical to the nitrokeg that it is presumably aimed at weaning fizzheads off. Why bother? It’s methadone for keg junkies. Not blatantly offensive though. It would probably be marginally better without the sparkler. "Cask" (handpump), The Bull and Chain, Lincoln

Slight hoparoma. Sweetish flavor with honey and apple. Honeyish with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Not too bad.
