Commercial Description:
Cask; Occasional.
First brewed in June 1999 to commemorate the trussing-in of Jonathan Manby.
"An amber-red bitter in the classic India Pale Ale (IPA) style, full-bodied and robust in flavor. It is late-and dry-hopped with Golding hops. Initial sweetness, which gives way to complex fruitiness followed by a bitter finish."

Aroma is floural with lemon off the hops, some rich malts come through afterwards. Taste is similar a good sweet base balanced by the dry hoppy finish, nice little beer here.

Cask, Criterion, St Andrews. Copper colour, very slightly hazy, thin off-white head. Nose is hoppy, some grass and lemon, slight sweetness. Mouth is fruity, watery, sweet. Quite fresh and light. Malt and hop bitterness, balanced, palates out to a smooth, sweet, slightly liquorice end. Too watery flavour, very good apart from that.

Cask handpull at The County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Copper gold colour with lasting beige head. It’s a slightly fruity bitter. Ok hop on finish. Bit of apple/yeast on aroma. Some fruit in mouth. Ok

Cask at ’Spoons, Milton Keynes, in ’Spoons Real Ale Festival, April-May ’09. Copper with a small white head. Painty malt aroma, not the best, but the taste was good enough: grainy malt with a hint of almond and a mid bitter finish.

Cask, Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Oadby. Golden with an off-white head. Aromas are light grapefruit with lemon and biscuit malts. Flavours are sweet grapefruit with hints of strawberry and cherry. Fruity with a dry, grain finish.
