A firm white head covers the clear dark golden pour. Extremely fruity this one! Almost belgianesque yeastiness procures blackcurrant notes and an altogether weirdly fruity palate. Sweetish, but drowned in the malts’ graininess. No toastiness whatsoever, just those dulling, rather stale fruits. Poorly integrated.

Cask@GBBF2007. Amber colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is caramel, fruits and much nectar/tropical fruit. Some slight wood is there too. Flavour is bitterness and tropical fruits along with some wood. Aftertaste is mainly nectary.

Cask, gravity at The Rock of Gibraltar Beer Festival, Enslow, Oxon, 01-09-07 Copper coloured with the merest hint of haze, served a bit too warm in my opinion, beers were served inside the pub on racks with no effort to keep cool. Bizarre candy like aroma, unfortunately this artificial aroma followed through into the mouth, very strange what on earth are Theakston at with this beer? Tastes of sweets, sasparilla, and just totally bonkers not my thing at all, hideous stuff.

Cask handpump at The White Horse, Harborne, Birmingham. Dark golden with a short head. Very flowery, lemony scent with some strawberries and mandarins on the end. Smooth mouthfeel, slightly sweet. Tastes of orange jelly with a bitter, dry end and some liquorice at the back. Very unusual and very nice.

A Mes rate: Cask at GBBF. Dark gold with a white head. Sweet, medicinal and none too pleasing aroma. Very sweet and fruity flavour. No balance. Watery. Erm... yyyup.

Cask at GBBF 2007. it was not very good, no real aroma, and very watery. It seemed to have nothing in it for me.

Cask, GBBF 07. Must be something wrong with this. Coppery, thin white head. Nose is medicine, banana antibiotics. Mouth banana chewits. Childrens chewy sweets. Finish is watery and sweet. Fake fruit, coating. Just plain bad.

Aug 07 Cask conditioned @ Humble Plumb, Soton. Seriously appley not quite ruddles orchard territory but its close. Pants, I wish I’d remembered I drank this before. 1.9
Aug 06 Cask conditioned @ Humble Plumb, Soton. Peachy fruit and various other fruit is main feature. English malts and minimal hop finish. Odd. 2.9
