Commercial Description:
Bottle - Pasteurised.

This is a very pale, straw coloured ale, that uses a special malt to produce a pronounced ‘peach-like’ element to the aroma and palate, which is complemented by a floral hop character.
Brewed using a blend of traditional Fuggle, Golding and Bramling Cross hops.

Only ratings of the bottled version should be entered here. The cask version has a separate entry.

From the Bottle at Chris O’s, GBBF Week 09/08/2008 Pale malt and hop aromas. Clear golden coloured and hoppy with a little dryness and bitterness in a crisp malt finish.

Picked this up simply because it was cheap. A pale golden colour with a small white head. Mild aromas of citrus and floral notes. Typical malt and hop balance: sweet and often grassy. Thin, almost lagery palate. Fundamentally nothing more than a simplistic bitter and incredibly average.

Bottle, 4.1%. Weak citric aroma. Clear pale golden colour, small white head. The flavour is slightly sweet, hint of dust and fruit. Grainy finish.

Bottle bought from the brewery itself by a friend of mine. Pale gold colour. Faint aroma of candy-peaches. Is it me or is this rather light on flavours other than a greenleaf bitter finish?

A Mes rate: bottle at Chris O’s Post GBBF Tasting.
Very pale yellow gold with a thin white head. Grassy and floral with some faint wheaty notes, pale malt and some fruity hops in the finish. Dull.

Bottle from Waitrose. Yellow and not as clear as I had expected. Medium carbonation with some hops present. Not very inspiring and certainly th worst beer I have tried from this brewery.

Bottle that I’d picked up from Sainsbury’s Kidlington, Oxon, consumed 28-08-08 Noticing Glens rating of this made me realise that I had one of these down the shed, half forgotten, one of my garden beers that I don’t have to think about. Pours light golden with a white head. Some fruitiness on the nose but nothing like peach was detected. Taste was slightly bitter, little fruity quite drying at end, this is the second time that I’ve had this over the summer sadly it was as uninspiring as when drank on the first occasion.

Bottle, pasteurised, 500ml from Sainsburys, Banbury. Straw to gold, carbonation, white head. Sharp CO2 notes right from the start, quite thin but with a sharpish, lagery note on a dryish body. Some citric notes with a touch of cedar. Long finish but ultimately quite dull.
