jammin7jg (139), Withington, Manchester, England May 6, 2007 [CASK: The Salisbury Ale House, Manchester 10/11/06] A very strong brew but with a pleasant tast and not too harsh. Will send you loopy if you drink too much. Good strong flavour and full dark bodies. Nice! imdownthepub (5089), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Dec 3, 2005 Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury. Brown bronze with white head. Big malty beer with earthy fungal fruitiness and a sweetish toffee note. Plenty of nasal alcohol and a full hop finish. It’s good to see Theakston’s getting it together again. Nekronos (2261), Xalapa, Mexico Nov 23, 2005 Updated: Feb 12, 2006Good, strong Ale it is, I like the taste of a little rotten apple on these beers, the foam was good, but a little like Jelly. rauchbier (2993), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England Jan 23, 2004 Cask Conditioned. Bronze colour, good tight off white lasting head and fine condition. Heavy malt and caramel in the nose with some fruity raisin notes. More sweet caramel in the mouth with some fruitiness and a strange funky mushroom earthiness. Finish is sweet and malty with the alcohol becoming apparent.
