Nov 20, 2008 Cask, Delius, Bradford. Dark brown colour with a thick off white head. Nutty roasted malt aroma. Nice body to this. Clean and smooth tastin; fruity hints in the flavour with some sourness. Dryish finish. Could easily envisage guzzling several of these.

Sep 28, 2008 Keg draught at the Lord Roberts, Nottingham. So dark brown it’s almost black, this ale had a creamy head and was very smooth on the palate. The flavour has hints of dark berries, coffee and chocolate, but these are too faint to be truly tasty.

May 17, 2008 Cask-conditioned at the Knights Templar (JDW), London WC2 16/5/08. Deep brown with a decent, off-white head. Sweetish malt and fruit aroma. Flavour was sweet, with coffee, berries and a savoury edge, before a short bitter finish. Ok.

Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium to medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft - flat. Black, thin head. Stonking mild, one of the best of the day. Very full-bodied, rich and sweet. Enough hops to provide some interest too, but on the whole just a velvety mellow elixir.
