[CASK: The Brunswick, Piccadilly, Manchester 26/02/07] Grim... Oh why did I do it to myself. Not a good mild at all. Tasteless and horrible. The worst drink I have ever had so far!

Cask at GBBF 2006. A hazy deep red beer with a beige head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of roasted malt and berries. The flavor is very sweet and very malty, combined with lighter notes of berries. The body is thin. A bit like a berry juice, but good as a session beer.

A Mes rate: Cask at The Phoenix in Canterbury. Almost akin to a flemish sour in the nose. Quite possibly in the flavour too. Very old ale-ish. Almost sour, almost salty and reasonably fruity. Swift drying finish.

Veyr nice, Theakston tends to brew good beers, and this is not the excepmtion, the differenc eis that I like milds more than Bitters. Veyr nice colour and features, the taste is very good.

Cask, GBBF 06. Aroma not really prevalent here. Coffee, chocolate, slightly sour. Appearance is dark brown, tan head. Flavour of malty coffee, touch of fruit. Thin and a little dry.

1. Cask Handpump at the Foresters Arms, Tarporley 26/01/2007 Some roast aroma. Thick white head. Dark and very fruity with some sourness. A little dryness in a crisp smooth roast finish. 2. Cask Handpump at the Ring O Bells, Warrington 30/05/2009 Fruit and malt aromas. Dark red coloured a little rich on the palate and fruity with some dryness in a crisp floral malt finish.

A nice change. Once you get used to the lack of bite of bitters, it’s very smooth. Caramel, roasted malt & chestnut tea taste. From Richmond Springs, Bristol

Truly mild. Light brown color, no head to speak about, almost invisible aroma of malt, caramel and bread (?) and very mild and gentle palate. Cask conditioned.
