Cask at GBBF 2006. A hazy deep red beer with a beige head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of roasted malt and berries. The flavor is very sweet and very malty, combined with lighter notes of berries. The body is thin. A bit like a berry juice, but good as a session beer.

At GBBF 2009. Amazed that I have never rated this before. Some caramel, some ok dark toffee. Inoffensive.

Cask@GBBF 2009 as "Traditional Mild". According to Beermad different beer than 3.6% mild ("Mild ale" in Bm and listed as "dead") in the database. Dark nut brown, beige creamy head. Coffee-chocolate aroma. Light pear-grass-caramel flavor. Light coffee too.

A Mes rate: Cask at The Phoenix in Canterbury. Almost akin to a flemish sour in the nose. Quite possibly in the flavour too. Very old ale-ish. Almost sour, almost salty and reasonably fruity. Swift drying finish.

Cask at peterborough beer fest. Alround rating: Tart, chocolate malts, thin yet full? Very drinkable stuff exactly what i would want in a session beer.
