Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Its initial sweetness is, apparently, "of roasted and vinous notes with a subtle bitter aftertaste". Strong fruitiness, often with "banana notes" standing out, is derived from Old Peculier’s fermentation process.

Dark ruby color with an off-white head. Rich maltiness with a subtle bitterness and alcohol warmth on the finish. Nice beer.

A nice and interesting beer! It has a lot of notes that meet in a nice harmony. I find berries, dark fruit, malt, nice cough medicine and a bit of smoke? The bitterness is just right. A nice beer. (Early rating)

Pours ruby colored with a mostly receding tan head. Aroma of toffee, resinous malt, whiskey, banana, and peat. Tastes of toffee, caramel, banana, plums, and oak. Mouthfeel is full bodied with moderate carbonation. Very enjoyable ale.

12oz brown bottle served in a shaker pint. Poured a rich mahogany with a very slight head. Not a lot of aroma, a little caramel. Medium bodied, lots of malt with molasses and carmalized sugar flavors prevalent. Some fruit. Very little hop flavor or bitterness. Dry finish of toffee. A very old school British beer, seems a bit quaint compared to today’s penchant for big beers.

Reddish brown color with just about no head to speak of. Smells of roasted malt, fruit, sugar, and caramel. Taste is about the same but the mouthfeel is a bit watery. Finish is short but overall this beer does many things right.

Bottle. Dark reddish brown with a medium off-white head. Aroma is malty, semi sweet, with a tiny bit of roastiness. Taste is dark malt, but not overly thick. Fruit and caramel in the finish. Nice.

355 ml bottle, pours a soda-like color with little head, almost looks like a stout. I couldnt get a good feel for the aroma as it was very complex, but I found it kind of sweet but also a little roasty. Good body, taste is also kind of sweet, and the carbonation is very evident, Palate is smooth and fills your mouth with flavor. Not too heavy and very drinkable.

Pours dark almost black but with a hint of amber almost ruby shining through. Has a taste of Rye, has a sweet follow through. Rooted in history and delicious. Would definitely buy again.
