Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Its initial sweetness is, apparently, "of roasted and vinous notes with a subtle bitter aftertaste". Strong fruitiness, often with "banana notes" standing out, is derived from Old Peculier’s fermentation process.

A nice rich almost fruity aroma, with a medium malty flavor. This beer has a good color. Thanks Pete for the tip Mate!

Bottled 50cl. 5,6 ABV. It pours a dark ruby beer with a fast diminishing white head. The aroma is of grapefruit, licorice and caramel. Some hints of oranges and dark chocolate. Slightly metallic. The taste is rather malty, buttery and nutty. A medium bodied beer with a fairly low bitterness. A dry buttery finish follows with some nice caramel elements. Poor lacing.

Well. I had the rare opportunity to sample first the imported version and then a bottle brought to me by an Englishman. Thanks for that Vinnie! Very similar, but the English version (which includes the words "The Legend" on the label) is a bit fresher, smoother, and sweeter. Lovely garnet color. Full body. Rich malty slightly bittersweet flavor. Toffee, dark cherries, dark chocolate, fine carbonation. Tried ’em both at at Bodega downtown La Crosse, WI USA

Bottle. Bought and brought home from Cockney Pub, Aarhus. Pours a great dark red with a small creamy off white head. Aroma is mild, there are lots of caramel, roasted malts and some berries. Low carbonation. Flavour begins mild, then turns great. Some roasted caramel, liqourice and a little chocolate. Not as stunnig as on cask, but still good.

Bottle. This is one of those beers that you see on so many shelves and never get around to trying. Well at last I have tried it and what a pleasant experience it was. Dark and inviting and poured without a head.Plenty of body and pleasantly malty.Quite a full body without being overpowering. excellent-why did I wait so long?

Not much of a head. Reminsicent of Tooheys Old while cole, but opens up nicely with time. Caramel. toffee and spiciness at the end persist. A quality brew.

500ml Bottle - poured a nice dark deep red with decent head retention. Fruity nose, sweet toffee/banana flavour that really makes it unique. Nice liquorish finish. Excellent ale.

Bottle - Pours a light brown - dark amber color with a thin tan head. Small nose of sweet fruit, roasted coffee, can’t really smell the banana, though. Surprisingly light bodied, with very low carbonation. Slight fruit sweetness and very slight bitterness at aftertaste, with a very subtle alcoholic presence. I faintly taste the licorice when I read what others said here. Altogether not a bad beer, but I was however, expecting a little more impressive and intense flavor. (EDIT:) I just read MelbBrewers_JD who said it should be enjoyed semi-warm - might re-rate this as I have a 6 pack.
