Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Its initial sweetness is, apparently, "of roasted and vinous notes with a subtle bitter aftertaste". Strong fruitiness, often with "banana notes" standing out, is derived from Old Peculier’s fermentation process.

Found by my mom at a local flea market. Thanks mom.I’m not sure the age of this but it was actually a nice suprise.Lots of sweet malt, some bourbon and a slight woody aroma.Pours dark brown with a medium light tan head.Slight chocolate and a very creamy caramel flavor.Medium mouthfeel with a smooth caramel finish.

My buddy’s mom found a bottle of this at a flea market and she bought it for us! Great move by mom, but I was a little concerned about the condition of the brew...Lots of caramel and toffee in the aroma--smelss almost BA. Murky brown with a thin head. Medium palate. Really nice toffee flavor--very creamy. Really suprised by this one.

Bland brew! Not much aroma or taste. Brown color. Light to medium body. Little roasted malt flavor---and no hops that I could notice.

Very attractive deep burgundy pour. Foreboding metallic aroma paints a thin, underdeveloped picture, before revealing chocolate, bananas and caramel. Lovely. Subtle charred flavors including fried banana and dried apple. Dark chocolate, pistachio and burnt brown rice. The complexity of this is surprisingly intense but not overwhelming. Palate is slightly too thin and out of proportion but all in all this is quite a winner.

Bottle at In de Wildeman, march 07. Burnt candy, toffee flavor with a touch of licorice and some sherry. A touch of molasses and dried fruits too. Dark burned sugar and fruits aroma. A clear, very dark (almost black) brownish color with some burgundy, ruby, hues and a thin white rim. MF is medium, rich fruitiness palate with an astringent ending. A nice, complex, enjoyable old ale.

Dark with minimal head. Sweet maltiness dominates. Molasses. Minimal carbonation. Palate is fairly flat. Flavor is good but not very interesting overall.

Pours a black liquid with a bit (a cm or so) of head. Aroma is a faint amount roastiness with a lot of red wine characteristics. Flavor is some roastiness with additional red wine fullness. Mouthfeel is full-bodied and somehow thick. I didn’t find this very drinkable, and I didn’t really enjoy this.
