Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Its initial sweetness is, apparently, "of roasted and vinous notes with a subtle bitter aftertaste". Strong fruitiness, often with "banana notes" standing out, is derived from Old Peculier’s fermentation process.

Pours dark brown with a thick fizzy head. Aroma of rich sweet malt and alcohol. Sweet and malty flavor on a medium body. Wierd old fruit flavor that finishes the taste.

Pours dark amber. Small head that dissapates. Aroma bready and banana. Flavor semisweet caramel and dried fruit. Not much of a finish. Not to impressive.

Bottle from friend from England. Pours a nice rich amber color with a nice frothy head that dissapated shortly therafter. Left a nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt and nuts. Has a medium body with a taste of caramel and fruit. This is an realy good brew that I could sit down and dring a few of. Very Nice!

I had to lower overall because it peaked on all other categories. one of my favorite beers. carmel malt, full body, dark look, no aftertaste but strong flavor. can’t wait to find it on tap. will continue to buy my share.

Carmel and molasses notes and lack of hops do not work for me. A well crafted ale in a style I do not favor. Not too sweet. A boosy flavor that goes beyond the alcohol content. Concurrently both bitter and sour. Same-old reserved label with just lettering and fancy bottle I see out of England-- subtle like the brews but also a little pompous. The english ales and some stouts never seem very heavy.

Aroma is floral and caramel malty. Clear, amber-brown coloured with a lasting, brown head. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter. Caramel malts, dark fruits and floral hops in it. Quite well balanced. Slitghtly sticky, medium body. Nice brew!
