Apr 11, 2006 Aroma was the strongest thing going for this beer has a sweet malty aroma. It looks good. If falls off in the palate and flavor and carbonation. When cold it’s a little fizzy and has a dry flavor that is just a little weak. It finishes a little watery as well when it warms. If this had been a blind tasting I might have rated it even lower. It was a highly recommended beer that just didn’t live up to the billing for me. If I try it again and it is better I will re-rate it.

Apr 9, 2006 04.09.06 12oz bottle. Well, this certainly isn’t raising any eyebrows. Dark cola brown color with medium but fading beige head. Aroma is lightly oxodized, slightly diacetyl, with touches of leather, dark and fruity esters, cigar box. Flavor is carried weakly by a thin and uninspiring body, peculiar indeed. Soft, thin, mild, a bit grapey, and not too distinctive. The finish is only slightly bitter and rather papery sweet. Oh well.

Mar 31, 2006 Pours a nice medium brown color with a perfect amount of froathy tan head. Aroma is sweet and caramely, slightly roasted scents. Flavor is malty and molasesy with warming alcohol undertones and a slight bitter finish. Overall, very enjoyable.

Mar 30, 2006 A nice malty aroma greets the drinker of this beer. Fruit is also evident. The appearance is interesting. It is quite dark but with some brownish tones. It is not really an attractive beer. The aroma is a nice lead in to the flavor. Malt and fruit are dominant. There is a nice underlying bitterness that gains as the beer warms.

Mar 24, 2006 Pours bronze\brown color with a one finger thick lasting head. Aroma of roast, sweet malts, citrus ( however the aroma is slight, almost had no smell present). Flavor citrus, sweet, slight fruit, with a slight bitter finish. Good brew.

Mar 18, 2006 Updated: Apr 14, 2006Bottle, 500ml. Average diminishing head. Dark black appearance. Fantastic aromas of malt and citrus. Didn’t get any "banana notes" from it though. A malty, somewhat sweet taste with a light bitter but very fruity finish. Light carbonation. A damm good ale.
