Feb 7, 2006 12 oz bottle, poured into shaker. (it’s all I have at this point). Very dark, small mocha colored head that goes away within a few minutes. Smells exactly as described: banana and an overall fruitiness. Somewhat active carbonation and good overall mouthfeel. The hardest part of this review is describing the taste. It’s somewhat dry, yet remarkably smooth with dark malty goodness. There’s still something else in there but I can’t identify it. Could be the ever so slight fruit undertones. Either way, a good "try at least one" beer.

Feb 1, 2006 Pours dark amber. Opens with a glimpse of sweetness that quickly transitions into a strong hop presence with fruit notes. Rather brief aftertaste did not reveal residual sweetness. The palate is indeed "peculier" -- the ingredients are all there but for my taste they just don’t work quite right.

Jan 17, 2006 "Poured a nice mahogany color with an average head which left okay lacing. Aroma had something in it that i wasn’t a fan of. Rich flavor, sweet, yet dry bitter finish. Nice beer, still not sure about that aroma, but if you don’t smell it good beer."

Jan 16, 2006 Bottle. Fairly treacly sweet with hints of the roasted malts and dusty hops in the finish. Didnt really get me going.

Jan 15, 2006 Updated: Jan 17, 2006Bottle. Black Brown bear with a lset o real tan bubbles. Banana rum aroma. Meaty roasted malt with a light banana note. Quite refreshing and quaffable for its darker, roasted malt quality. I would buy a well priced case of this in a snap.

Jan 14, 2006 Midway between a bitter and an old ale, I would say. Coffe and toffee from the malt, grass and resin from the hops. Fruits, too - raisins and apples.
Very drinkable - a complex and interesting ale.

Jan 13, 2006 Pours a rather dark brown with a lovely thick light caramel head. Slightly fruity aroma with hints of apple and banana. Roasted malts dominate the flavor with a bitter finish. Thin bodied and sort of boring but passable. Definitely overpriced.

Jan 6, 2006 bottle - Pours dark brown with a medium head. Nice caramelly, malty aroma. Flavor is mostly that of roasted malts with a decent mouthfeel and a slight bitterness in the finish. I was hoping for a bit more complexity in the flavor than I found and a bit sharper finish. However, I may have to resample... my palate is a bit off from a nasty coffee burn. heh...
