Commercial Description:
Bottle; Pasteurised.
Its initial sweetness is, apparently, "of roasted and vinous notes with a subtle bitter aftertaste". Strong fruitiness, often with "banana notes" standing out, is derived from Old Peculier’s fermentation process.

Bottle. Dark body that is almandine when held up to the light. Head fades into a good sized film of bubbles. Nose-woody, grapey, a little spicy. Taste-light banana, very fruity and grapey, prune, very light fig, maybe some unsweet caramel that translates as some light smoke. High CO2 that is very sharp on the tongue. A really good sipper. Not mind blowing in any way, but quite enjoyable.

Dark chestnut brown with an appetising beige head. Aroma of caramel and fruits. Initially sweet, then countered by bitterness, so the finish feels dry. There are fruity as well as yeasty notes. Very nice.

(Bottle 33 cl) Very dark - close to black - with a fairly small, off-white head. Considering all the stuff they put into this(several malts, corn, wheat, 3 different hops, different sugars) it’s fairly light-bodied. Some smoked notes do stand out amongst the roasted, malty, slightly coffeeish flavours. Very drinkable - a pleasure. 170701

From the bottle Pours a deep brown with a reasonable - though short-lived - head.

Splendid aroma of raisins, spice, and molassas, but the flavor (slighty sweet, fruity, dominanted by the malt), and mouthfeel (thin, almost insipid, slightly prickly) doesn’t live up to the initial aroma.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown with no head. Malty aroma. Medium body. Slick fruity malt flavor. Little carbonation. Smooth finish.

IT is a good beer, the hops are great, and the foam is nice, but something is missing, like if nothing new had just being on your glass. I thought it was big beer, but just a regular Old Ale.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown with an average frothy light brown head that was lasting and produced good lacing. Heavy malty aroma. Medium body. Good fruity malt flavor with a solid finish of average duration. Good brew.

I enjoyed this one, I liked it because I WAS expecting something heavier, it was Malty, a bit sweet, but not overly so, very drinkable.
