Commercial Description:
Cask, Regular;
This is our premium strength bitter, ruby coloured with a rich flavour and full body. The balance between bitterness and fruitiness from the Bramling Cross and Fuggle hops used give XB the distinctively complex aroma, making it the beer to savour.

Cask at GBBF 2006. Copper, thick creamy head. Bit too buttery, soft in mouth. Some hop. Way to much butterscotch

[Cask at GBBF] Amber colour. Fairly sweet with medium body. Bold cookie malt, some light fruit and resiny hops. A touch of wood before a finish with fairly low bitterness.

Another bitter, in Australia (to me) it would be an a.f.l. - another f**ing lager. Amber body with hints of red, flat SlightIy malty taste, nothing that really stands out.

Excellent full-flavoured cask bitter. Been a while since I had it (in Northern England), will need a re-rate ASAP.

Wetherspooons Beer & Cider Festival May 2006 at The Falcon, High Wycombe and from the cask. Slight hazy copper colour. Think malt aroma. Thin body, some malt and a little fruit. I was expecting a sweet, caramely approachable best bitter, this isn’t quite that. Boring in the extreme.

Cask, The Lamplighters, St Helier, Jersey. Amber brown with off-white bubbles. Aromas are caramel and oranges with a musty fruitiness. Flavours are sweet toffee and fruit. Tastes a bit like a cheap kit homebrew. Probably not kept in great condition.

First shift in my new work in the crystal palace. Aroma is a bit more malty than ur average bitter. The taste is more dominated with hops, not much of a finish. A bit uninspiring, but not bad. 4.5% this vertion.
