Whenever I cast my eyes over a parade of hand pumps and see the crimson X and ruddy B standing boldly on the cerulean background I feel like a child waking on easter sunday and finding a room full of chocolate.
This ale is so smooth it could be describes as liquid silk.
this chestnut beauty has a mild malt flavour that combined with its delectable smoothness unfortunately lends itself to all day binges.

Sup it all up because its seriously good stuff. Not to be confused with Hartleys XB, although also good, but this is better! Very very recommended. The aroma is simple toffee. flavor finishes quickly with a bit of foamy creaminess leading the way into a mild and uninteresting vanilla/caramel flavor. Let this be for mass consumption audiences. There was a time when this was in my top 5 beers. It was smooth caramel, chocolaty malt and dry hop. It's still not bad but its not quite there any more, the flavour is a little more boiled and intense, not quite as rounded with that sharp dry finish. The fruitiness remains and it still packs a punch. The sessions I've had with this! oh well time moves on
