Thanks to Valerie and family for bringing these beers over from Italy. Light gold with lemon tinges and a slightly hazy body; looks appealing. Interesting nose, I’m finding it tough to pick much, not that this is a negative. Perhaps more German in aroma that Czech with light soft citrus and malt notes. Very varietal to taste with sharp hop features and a crisp palate. Medium weight malts fill the flavours out nicely. Beer shows a lot of balance and is clearly well made.

(Bottle 33 cl) Golden yet slightly hazy with a nice, dense head. Quite aromatic and hoppy. Reminds me a lot of a typical German pils. 080304

Of course, this beer is available in Coles Express in Wellington as opposed to anywhere in Australia. Yep, I mean si, it looks like a pils, golden colour and clean long lasting head. Anything special? ah nup. Strange bottle with the Austrian flag does nothing to really legitimise this one. Plain and boring supermarket pils.

The aroma is sweet and malty. The color is golden and it has a small but disappearing head. The flavor is dominated by straws and malt. A boring flavor though not bad.

Pretty much what you would expect of an Italian pilsener. Very malty with a low bitterness. "Bland" is too strong a word, but it is not very interesting.
