Commercial Description:
Ales are traditional, highly fermented and very distinctive. This Strong Ale with a deep amber-red colour is produced only with first choice malts which give it a characteristic sweet taste. Rich in creamy froth it leaves a pleasant aftertaste of hops. It is a typical strong beer and can be best enjoyed with strong and sharp flavoured food.

Coloração marrom, nenhuma turbidez, creme denso e medianamente persistente. Aroma de chocolate, café e malte torrado. No paladar, segue o aroma, mas um tanto aguada na textura. Final médio e amargo, com sensação de torrefação. Excelente drinkability.

(Draught at 3 små rum, Göteborg) Clear dark brown color, white head. Very toffee like and nutty scent, also sweet. Sweet and spicy taste. Medium a bit spritzy mouthfeel, low bitterness.

[Sampled in 2004.] Bought 5 bottles at Køvenhavnske Øldage and they were all very good indeed, with many good strong ntoes such as alcohol, dry fruits, caramel, medium complex, fullbodied, licorice, sweetness and hops in balance. Nice beer, but it has dissapeared since!

(33cl bottle, with thanks to Quack-Duck) Clear, copper colour with a medium-sized light-beige foamy head. Sweet toast-malty aroma with caramel, alcohol and a whiff of herbal hops. Sweet flavour, quite full bodied with a well-carbonated, almost soft mouthfeel. Strong toasted malty base with caramel and subtle fruity notes; sweet toasty malty finish with a rather strong but also non-disturbing alcoholic touch and traces of herbal hops. Lacks a bit fruity Ale-character, blindfolded I´d guessed this one was a Doppelbock.

clear ruby-brown colour with an elusive foam; chewy nose of cherry and slightly toasted malts; citrus and vanilla; high carbonation, very sweet and slightly oily, moderately dry afteraste of cherry/raisin marmelade

bottle, bought in Switzerland. Beautiful mahogany colour, large and persistent head. Creamy texture, caramelly flavopurw. The alcohol is clearly detectable and makes a warming impression. Slightly fruity, hints of raisin and roasted malt. Full of flavour. Hoppy fiish. Well-balanced and pleasant Strong Ale.
