lunaticharness (183), Roseville, Michigan, USA Oct 12, 2006 my sierra nevada replacement, nice bitterness, wheaty corn scent that makes you think it will be a piss pour wheat ale, then bang-0 eathy hops crisp dry clean finish, hints of yeast and wheat clean it all with a bow of happiness, very underrated beer, no its a triple magnum imperial super hop-natron - but it is very solid and very filling, not as "quaffable" as they say, it may be easy on the tongue, but heavy on the belly! and if you love michigan like i do you will love the labels of the state sections
FunkyBrewster (243), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 29, 2008 Thanks 17thfloor! Pours a hazy golden orange color with a tick white pillowy head. Also quite a bit of sediment. Not a bad aroma as there is some nice hop presence that is relatively soft and earthy. Some mild citrus fruitiness and wheat as well. Starts a bit light and fruity. Again some soft citrus flavors. Picks up some hop bitterness in the middle and appears to want to keep the hops but in the finish the hops disappear and a tiny sweetness returns but doesn’t linger. Medium body and lively carbonation. Aroma was a little too soft without much character. Flavor ends way to quickly after the build up in the start. This has some foundation to be a good beer but needs more presence.
FlssmrBrewAlum (360), South Chicago Suburbs, Illinois, USA Dec 22, 2008 12 oz bottle from the Binnys Singles Rack (Orland Park, IL). Pours a hazy yellowish hue complimented by a bubbly white effervescent head that dissipates to a smaller amount. Very good lacing throughout. Aromas are lightly grainy with a touch of cereal sweetness. Light fruitiness. Initial taste is light grainy sweetness, a touch of bitterness toward the finish, Grassy hops. Some light estery fruitiness, citrus and a light touch of apple, pear, and citrus. Light bodied, quenching, with some subtle tastiness. Sessionable, bitterness on the end is nice. Acceptable. barleynhops (57), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Nov 28, 2008 Great flavor filled with hops and malts. It poured a golden hue with moderate white lacing. The light citris worked well with the malts. I recommend with Thanksgiving Turkey. 1010 (121), Marysville, Ohio, USA Nov 21, 2008 Pours a nice transparent golden color with a thin white head. A citris aroma with a hint of hops. Taste much like a golden ale not a pale ale, with a bad aftertaste. Not very drinkable dispite the light taste. I would pass on this one if offered again.
12 oz. bottle Cletus (3614), Connecticut, USA Nov 18, 2008 Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of caramel, some citrus. Tastes of citrus, caramel, some sweet chewy hints on the finish.
