| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 4, 2009 Batch 8211 which was packaged on 11/9/07 so this is about four months old. The color is a dark red and the smell is strong fruits like grapes and then fumes from the alcohol. The flavor is definitely more malty than hoppy and the alcohol is slightly present to the tongue. Overall, decent barleywine.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 3, 2009 Draft. Pours a murky brown with a thin head. Aromas of sweet malt and cherry. Flavor is a strong bitter all the way through, along with some malt and chocolate. It got better as it got warmer, I’d love to try this after it has been aged a few years. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | May 3, 2009 12 oz. bottle. This is definitely not what I expected. A murky brown pour full of sediment and an off-white head. Heavy aromas of fruit and molasses, too sugary. Given the tag of ale, I anticipated hops and bitterness. Medium-bodied. It’s a bit overwhelming. Bullit (1392), Glasgow, Scotland
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2009 Bottle, The Den, Kalamazoo. Ruby red colour, tiny off-white head. Wouldn´t guess this is a barley wine. Thin bodied. Aroma of caramel malts, raisins and plums. Flavour has caramel malts, sour fruits, hops. Sweet finish. Not sure what to think of this. yumyum (124), barrie, Ontario, Canada

Flvour is well balance with neither a bitterness nor sweetness predominant yet both present. A smooth sipper. Qutie nice blklab2007 (982), Connecticut, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 26, 2009 Updated: Sep 30, 2009Pours a cloudy, medium-dark brown, slightly fizzy carbonation makes for a tight short beige head. Aroma is not what I expected, but good. Lots of sweet dark fruit, malt, and caramel/toffee. Flavor is sweet candied fruit and toasted caramel malt, that leads into an abrupt slightly bitter finish. Mouthfeel is pretty creamy, but the carbonation makes it a little less than smooth. Alcohol well hidden IMO.
