pours amber - ruby with beige head. Aroma is fruity - cherry and almost strawberry like with decent malty nose. Taste is thick and fruity with some spices. Caramel malts with light chocolate - tofee - undertones. Mlalts remain dominant with barley. Brown sugar mouthfeel with some dry prunes-plums with a light bitter hoppy finish.

Bottle. A murky, amber brown pour with a thin head. Light aroma of malt, plum and alcohol. Much fuller flavor; starts sweet and fruity but finishes with a lot of piney hop flavor.

Sampled at the Second Cellar Reduction. Pours a near opaque reddish brown with wispy khaki head. Nose of raisin and plum, vanilla, and oak, and the slightest twinge of alcohol. Flavor is nice and dark fruity, slightly bitter hoppiness, tannins, white grapes, caramel, some warming, but no real alcohol flavor. Nice and smooth and semi-syrupy. bitter lingering finish.

Tulip glass from bottle. Boozy aroma, hints of red fruit. Thin white head with mild lacing. Brown/red color. Taste explodes on the tongue, thick boozy malt with syrupy goodness. Oaky and tangy. Huge beer, with a sweet bitey foamy mouth feel.

Bottle at Jerry’s. Brown with good, creamy tan head / Sweet, toasty, malty nose / Medium to full body, sweet and malty, great balance, with surprising, but satisfying bitter finish / Rich flavors of nuts, toffee and brown sugar with dry hop finish / Superb, with an American hoppy take on a barley wine.
