Excellent balance of barley, malt, and hops with just the added flavors of cream makes this one to serve to your "prized" guests at your party. It even resembles a crown of excellence by displaying a golden head when poured. Get this now while it’s available. It’s worth the taste. mgoy (343), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Pours dark amber brown almost no head. Aroma of brandy, maple syrup, molasses, sweet malt, dark fruit: amazing aroma. Flavors include bourbon, caramel dark malts, good hop kick and long warm alcoholic finish leaving wanting more. Very complex great beer. douglas88 (1631), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 19, 2008 Thanks to Eric for sharing this beer. A 2004 edition probably. Pours a dark amber with a thin off-white head. The aroma was just amazing; dark fruit and sweet candies. The taste was also full of a more subdued fruit, with light spices and perhaps some wood and caramel. There is simply no alcohol aspect. Perfectly aged, and so damn smooth and creamy. Just great. chimplechamp (465), Oslo, Norway
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 19, 2008 pours mahagony, beige head. smell is citrus, slightly more restrained then the bear republic stuff i have been drinking. sweet toffee, and caramel are also prevolent as well as alcohol. almost brandy. some spices as well. thick sticky syrupy mouthfeel with loads of hops, citrus, but not overpoweringly acidic. extraordinary stuff. well balanced. probably the best since ive been home. dwr1962 (18), Wellsburg, West Virginia, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 15, 2008 A superb brew- one of the very best Barley Wine-style ales I have had. The alcohol is high but not out of balance. This one would be good to age, too. MrEcted1 (144), Wheat Ridge, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 14, 2008 A very nice winter warmer from Bells. This beer looks fantastic to me, pours a deep amber color with lots of chewy floaties (which I love). Smells nice and fruity with flavors like over-ripened apple. A very easy drinking BW style ale with just the right amount of hops and malt. Another winner from Bells! Sparky27 (1608), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 13, 2008 Bottle – batch 7800. Pours an opaque brown like caramel ice cream topping. Minimal head and zero lacing with some floaters. Nose is sweet malts and alcohol. Palate is a bit too sweet for my tastes with candied fruit, malt and a minor bitter alcohol aftertaste - not much hops in this one. At 10%, the ABV is nicely hidden.
