Bottle. Pours deep reddish black with glints of light coming through and thin particles suspended in it. Very small khaki head. Aroma is pungent port-wine alcohol scent along with tobacco and dried fruit. Also some woody, earthy notes in the aroma. Flavor has a lightly smokey character, heavy grains, thick rye bread, figs, cherries, fine brandy and nutty almond notes. Light bitterness neatly balances fruity sweetness. Sticky, full palate. Aftertaste is light alcohol sting and lingering fruit flavors. Enchanting.

Bottle. [Thanks for sharing Papsoe, once again buddy you deliver the goodies every time] Small frothy beige head that mostly diminished. Spare lacework. Hazy amber color. Aroma of lovely bread, caramel, grain, nutty, grassy and grapefruit notes as well. Underlying notes of raisin and mix of fruit. Full bodied with a complex texture of oily, sticky and alcohol. Soft carbonation. Moderated to heavy sweet flavor with well balanced light to moderated bitter hoppy notes. Bread like and sweet lingering finish. Very nice Barley Wine.

Pours a dark, cloudy mahogany brown with chestnut highlights and a thin tan head. Maderized aromas, some alcohol, fruit syrup--essence of prune--wood, and earth. Dark flavors of bitter fruits surrounded by a caramelized roundness and distinct, though well-integrated alcohol characteristic. The Body is fairly light and nimble despite the dense, dark flavor profile that leads into a complex finish that ends clean.

Batch 7695. 12 oz. bottle. Pours out a nice brown with a small tan head that fades quickly. Aroma is of sweet carmel and dark candi sugars, touch of hops noted as well. Taste is very sweet of carmel, molassas and spice. Sticky as can be and absolutely wonderful flavor. The sweetness is then balanced out by a slight hop bittering for a clean finish. Mouthfeel is silky and notable as this brew is very pleasing to drink. I will say that this has been a pleasure of a drinking experience and I can’t wait to hide my other bottle for a year or so and see how she does.
