An unclear red beer with a fine beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted bread and yeast. The flavor is sweet and very hoppy both with aroma hops and bitter hops - which gives it a rather bitter finish. A great beer.

Re-rate, 2001 vintage sampled in February 2003. Deep ruby, pours thick with no head. Rich aroma of hoppy citrus, nuts and toffee. Sweet and syrup with very soft mouthfeel. Full bodied. Lingering grapefruity bitterness. Still after two yeasr this beer has a lot of potential to develope further.

Bottled, thanks heemer77. Dark reddish brown colour (muddy red), mediumsized brown foamy head. Pleasant aroma of plum with redwineish attributes, also a sting of alcohol. Flavour is Plummy, roasted malts, some fruits and berries and dark sugar are atleast present in the flavour. Creamy and smooth palate. Aftertaste of dark bread (malax limpa, which is a quite locally produced thing). Totally mindblowing barley wine! Hides ABV very well, though it is a bit noteable. Lovely!

Slightly murky amber. Toffee, nuts, raisins and just plain rich malts in the aroma. Very rich and long flavour with big toffee notes and some strong alcoholic dryness. Bitterness clashes too much with the chewy maltiness.
