| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 14, 2008 Cask pint at the brewpub. Bronze-red with a nice ’casky’ creamy head. Smooth, casually hopped beer, bit of woodsiness, well balanced. Very, very easy to drink -- light earthiness, mellow bitterness. An American interpretation of a good British pub ale. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 27, 2007 Cask at the brewpub. Aroma of caramel malt and light floral hop. Amber color with a minimal white head. Medium body; light carbonation. Flavor is caramel malt with balancing floral. Seemed a good APA. I tend to really like English hops, so that may be why I rated this "high". Wulfstan (509), California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 27, 2007 Updated: Oct 17, 2007Although this is one of the Aleworks’ flagship beers, it’s also one of their least impressive. It has a thin head and average appearance . The flavour is not at all bad, with mild hops pretty well balanced out with a faint sweetness, etc. However, it is quite weak & a touch too watery & thin. It is certainly drinkable, with nothing unpleasant, but it is just boring and inmemorable. If I want a local English Pale Ale, I go two blocks away to Russian River Brewing for their Dead Leaf. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 6, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear orange color. Head was thin and white. Aroma was of light flowery hops. Thin, watery mouth feel with a touch of biscuity malt accented by mild hop bitterness. There was also a strange hint of bacon from time to time that detracted. badlizard (2385), Berkeley, California, USA
