Mar 17, 2007 Potent roasted malt nose, dark brown color. Charcoal notes throughout with a espresso end. Thinish but OK for a porter. One-dimensional (roasted malt) but fun to drink.

Feb 12, 2007 Draft. Blackish beer with a tan head. Roasty/coffee aroma. Roasty flavor with coffee. Medium body. LIngering roast. A bit too much roast for my liking.

Feb 1, 2007 at the brewpub: Mud brown color wiht a small head on top. Roasted malt taste which lasts fairly long - nice one.

Jul 23, 2006 On cask @ Third Street poured a translucent brownish black with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, bitter chocolate and licorice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bitter chocolate, a hint of coffee and vanilla with a dry bitter finish.
