Very smokey aroma with chocolate and caramel. Taste is also very smokey and roasty with coffee. Similar to a java stout.

Cask, at the brewpub
Dark brown colour. Frother sparkler-induced head. Some stingy roast and sweet chocolate in the aroma. Thick, creamy body with full sweet chocolate maltiness and light roast. Off-dry finish.

GABF 2004. Black with a large, creamy light-brown head. Excellent lacing. Chocolate, roasted malt, and burnt grains in the aroma. Average flavor duration with light sweetness, finishes moderately bitter. Medium-bodied, and a tad too thin for my tastes.

I wasnt expecting too much from Third Street, and my expectations were right in line with what I got. It pours a black hue with a creamy, fairly thick light tan head. The aroma is fairly weak and consists of chocolate and coffee bean whafts. The taste is much of the same. Incredibly dry...some serious chocolate graniness and a strange plastic coffee bean character. Very typical stout. Some sweets in the finish..but man was this just typical in every sense of the word!
