Commercial Description:
India pale Ale, or IPA, was developed to quench the thirsts of British settlers in the East and West Indies. The Bodega Head IPA recreates the stylistic ideas of the 1800’s. High alcohol and aggressive hop charecteristics are matched with a dry malt background and finish.

A golden amber IPA with a thin white head. A nice caramel malt with light floral hops. In mouth, a nice oily malt with floral c-hops, a bit of bile bitterness. A nice honest IPA. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, August 16 2009.

Sampled at the brewpub. Transparent amber/gold. Spicy, fruity nose. Strong flavor, bitter, soapy. The finish is kind of nondescript but oddly, I enjoy this. Seems to be a big seller too.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity and subdued fruity. Sweet fruity, distinct smooth grapefruity and light mango note. Bitter and dry finish. Lasting fruity impression.

Poured from the tap to a light reddish-orange with a thin white head that lingered thru mid glass and left decent lacing. Nose was a nice crisp citrusy grapefruit, mouthfeel was full and tingly and the flavor even accentuated the grapefruit more than the nose. This all led to a full long finish. A pleasant surprise from this out of the way place.
