Wulfstan (509), California, USA Sep 19, 2007 Updated: Sep 25, 2007This porter has deep, fairly rich colour, flavour, and body. This is (or was, I haven’t asked if it’s still made, but I haven’t seen it offered in about a year or more) a tasty, fairly heavy-duty, but well-balanced, smooth porter with good body. It has definite, strong coffee-chocolate flavours, but these are not overpowering and with a rasoty/malty flavour it has good balance. tomciccateri (496), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Feb 16, 2006 On draught at GABF. Nice dry, dark malt flavor, light-to-medium-body, with a clean, dry finish. Nice standout in the crowd. Rastacouere (5551), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 4, 2005 Deepest brown pour, wearing a mostly lasting light tan head. Slightly watery nose hints at chocolate malt and straight roasted coffee beans without detour. Looking for more complexity in mouth doesn’t bring more comfort, a touch of nutskin may be noticeable with effort, but we’re mostly left with typical dark malts flavours, but the fruitiness and a smooth mouthfeel that is thin-medium with a lingering wateriness in the mostly short finish. mrnutsnbolts (204), Berkeley, California, USA Aug 4, 2005 Tap. Dark brown with a thin brown head. Strong presence of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt. Creamy on the tongue, but thinner than I expected. ratman197 (3137), Arvada, Colorado, USA Jul 14, 2005 On cask @ 3rd st poured a translucent brown with a brown head. Aromas of roasted malt and coffee. Smooth creamy mothfeel. Fl;avors of coffee and dark chocolate jazz88 (2235), San Francisco, California, USA Jan 21, 2003 Tap. Dark brown with loads of roasted chocolate and malt. I also had the cask version which had a great head. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Feb 8, 2002 Tasting Notes from Fall 2000: Very caramelly. A fairly traditional (as the name suggests) porter
