pivo (2486), Germany Jul 14, 2007 Hazy yellow color and a huge spongy head. Some hops already in the nose. Extremely bitter without a real hop flavor--a bitterness like grass or rocket. Biting and stinging. Can be good, but I wanted more hop flavor. Thinish body.

(Rating #1890) mgermani (591), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jul 21, 2008 Silly silly me. I only gave this one a few hours in the fridge after it arrived in the mail before opening and boy, what a gusher! [Mine] pours a cloudy pale orange with a lovely white head with great retention. Sweet, slightly funky head - Saison-ish. Nice! Crisp, peppery taste with good malting and nice hopping. Great carbonation despite my earlier mishap, great dry finish. Crisp body. What a shame I lost a third of this - it’s super-tasty! Thanks to Boutip for the trade! Glouglouburp (1935), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 6, 2008 In short: A dry and crisp blonde ale. Highly drinkable
How: Bottle 330ml, very fresh
The look: Cloudy dark yellow body topped by a long lasting medium white head
In long: Nose has the signature Thiriez barnyard along with something that I can only describe as “paper mill”. Taste has a lot of crisp pale malts, plenty of papery hops, some pineapples and some minerals. The beer is overall very dry and very crisp. Fizzy carbonation that could have been a bit more relaxed. Many things about this beer do reminds me of Thiriez’s own excellent Xxtra (it was even aliased as the same beer upon its release). After drinking a few bottles I think this really is a slight variation on the Xxtra, falling a little bit short in the juicy dry-hopping department. Without a doubt the best alternative to the Xxtra I can find in my fridge, although I should specify that besides that beer I only have an old mustard jar and a past due-date bottle of salad dressing. GonZoBeeR (1994), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada Jun 26, 2008 Aroma:Very hopy, fruity and spicy...
Appearance:hazy gold, good creamy withe head..Flavor:spicy and fruity, citrus, good co2 feeling in mouth.... CapedBrewsader (181), Brasschaat, Belgium Jun 16, 2008 Bottle at Thiriez: Lightly hazy tarnished gold. Tall white head with lively looking CO2. Good lacing. Light-struck hops blow off very quickly. Smooth "creamy" character with hops and yeast. Slight wheat or even mixed old world grains... spelt, rye, etc. Citrus comes up as the beer warms. Flavor has again a light spelt like character. Then good solid noble type hops. Decent hop level through the middle. Wheat/spelt come back with yeast after the hops play around a little. Ends nicely dry but with an alcohol kick which is odd for a 5.5%abv brew.
