Pours a murky brown with a big, longlasting, yellowish tanned head. Some lacing. Sweet and somewhat bitter. Nice yeasty aromas with hints of peppar. Seems to me like a mix of bière de garde and Belian ale. Medium bodied. Bitter, peppery finish. Nice enough.

Fruity and doughy esters are offset by strong citrus and floral hops in the nose. Opaque tan-blonde coloured body is topped by a decent, off white head that recedes fairly quickly to a lasting cover. Curious hop flavour is pungent without overwhelming - floral, spicey, pot-like. Malt character is subdued but there are plenty of fruity esters and some toastiness apparent in the aftertaste. Medium body is quite dry with lively carbonation that intrigues the tongue. Snifter. Cellar temperature. Bottle (Half Time, Sep-05).

Bottle. Hazy orange, thick white head, and lots of fine floating sediment. Aroma is sweet, fruity, yeasty and spicey. The flavour is lightly malty and fruity, yeasty with some light hops in the finish. Medium bodied, highly carbonated foamy, but nice mouthfeel. A very good, easy drinking Bière de Garde.

Malty aroma, some fruit as well, cloudy tangerine with a slim of-white head. Taste is light malt, pears, and hops too. Medium bodied, soft sweetness. quite good.

Huge foamy head raises fluffy and mountainous over the highly sedimented orange hue. Very doughy nose has that fluffy character from bubbly farmhouse ales. Fruit focused with orange up front, but approaching fruit salad characteristics. Interesting yeast in there, kinda musty and very estery, clementines like. This keeps on in mouth, where bready fruitiness dominates to our pleasure with the greatest precision. Not so complex, but evolving gracefully. Hugely bubbly palate, biting big bubbles activating the tastebuds constantly. Not my favourite from Thiriez, but still a remarkable offering in its efficient simplicity.

Bottle shared with Ralph, HogTownHarry, blankboy, DougShoemaker & mds - courtesy of DougShoemaker. Golden-orange with a moderate white head. Aroma is quite herbal and grassy. Flavour is herbal as well, with yeast & grain notes, and a mildly hopped finish. Sounds kind of boring in writing, but it’s actually quite enjoyable.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, Ralph, DougShoemaker & mds -- courtesy of DougShoemaker. Pours a hazy dark orange with a large lasting fluffy white head. Aroma of grain, yeast, spices and light grassy hops. Flavour of grain, yeast, some fruit and a mild hop bitterness. Not a favourite but it’s decent.
