beastiefan2k (1590), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Jul 16, 2009 Goblet pour at the brewpub. The beer has a clear very dark copper color with a small but strong head. Aroma is strong caramel with some light sticky butterscotch (might actually be a bit of diacetyl). In the flavor the butterscotch is fought off by some tighter carbonation. A bit of a floral like mix comes from the malts with a cookie crust finish. A bit of a stronger hoppiness than a traditional BdM or maybe needs a touch strong malt structure. Definitely in the right style but very average for the style. JohnC (2227), Mission Viejo, California, USA Jul 10, 2009 I had this on draft at the Thirsty Bear brewpub.
Nice bronze color with a fruity and tangy flavor. I enjoyed this one. mrhoppy (209), Santa Clara, California, USA Jun 4, 2009 Delicious sweet and spiced beer. Light hop presence. Subtle flavors of cinnamon, tea, honey and clove. balanced and complex.
