Commercial Description:
This unique beer is light and smooth in taste. Its deliciously fragrant aroma is imparted from whole vanilla beans that come from the orchid plant.

Had just a sample of this. I was amazed how much vanilla came thru. Very sweet. Hard to believe it was beer. Glad I did not get a pint. Too sweet for me. Nice color with a white head and nice lacing in the sample glass. Might be good for a dessert beer.

(On tap) Presented as "Thirsty Bear Organic Golden Vanilla". Clear, fully golden with a creamy, off-white head leaving laces. Weird pumpkin aroma. Light-bodied with a vaguely sweet malt base before the vanilla really shines through. The finish is dry without much bitterness. Interesting. 240307

Labelled ’Organic Golden Vanilla’
Light golden amber coloured body with a super light white head. Aroma of pure vanilla - very strong. Light-bodied; Strong fake vanilla essence and taste throughout - not very pleasant. Aftertaste is quite sweet and very weak - this one just doesn’t impress me. Overall, too much vanilla here to be a ’real’ beer, but worth trying if you really love the flower! I sampled this beer on draught at the brewpub on 28-February-2007.

On tap @ Thirsty Bear poured a clear golden amber with a minimal off white head. Aromas of carmel, vanilla and a hint of honey. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of honey, vanilla and light carmel with a smooth sweet finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours dark gold with a nice lacing white head. Strong candy vanilla aroma. A big vanilla flavor masks everything else about this beer. The flavor finishes with a pretty chemical taste at the end.

Golden-bronze colour. Light caramel aroma with a hint of vanilla. Basically this beer is a standard amber with a smooth, sweet vanilla character that is well-integrated but not overbearing. Not my mug of beer but well-made nonetheless.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear deep golden. Strong, interesting vanilla aroma. Sweet with rounded mouthfeel, Like a fluid dessert in itself - very fluid custard. Good, but one-dimensional.

On tap at the brewpub. Dark yellow, small white head. Harsh vanilla aroma - strong but harsh. Tastes much better than it smells; nice vanilla bean taste over a light body. Not surprisingly, lingering vanilla. As advertised! Sweet, but good, and a wonderful aftertaste. Worked for me.
