Has a very pale coloring, almost the same as the vanilla brew. Flavos is standard IPA, but has a bit of spice in it that gives it a nice kick. It’s not exactly an earth-shattering brew, but it’s not without its charm. willblake (2183), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Nice floral c-hop nose. This stuff is crazy bitter from front to back to after. Not much to be found in this brew as the bitterness is dominant and overwhelming of any other character. Still, I drank two pints. Lubiere (4548), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Nice sharp floral hops attack. Lots of citrus in finish. Again, rather light in body. (June 2004). LaChad (1375), San Francisco, California, USA

Very smooth mouthfeel, and quite well balanced for an IPA purchased west of the San Andreas. I like. bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 27, 2004 Draft. Amber beer with a big white head. Some citrus aroma. Citrus and pine tar flavors to go with a good malt backbone. Lingering bitterness and a good mouthfeel. A step above many brewpub IPA’s. cherr (162), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 29, 2004 I had this beer multiple times while in San Francisco. It has a wonderful aroma of citrusy, floral hops. The taste is initally sweet of malt, then finishes with a strong hoppy bite. Great beer for hopheads. lunaticharness (183), Roseville, Michigan, USA

Dark amber with a rocky head. Nose of hops and nuttin but hops. Unfiltered but still could’ve had more mouthfeel. At least 60 IBUs. Would definitely drink it again.
re-rate 11/25/06: Pours a very dark amber with a rocky head. Aroma is of spicy hops and caramel malts. The body is med. heavy. Flavors are WAY TOO SWEET. Extremely underattenuated without any where near enough bitterness or hop flavor to balance.
