Thirsty Bear Kozlov Stout

Part of a tasting tray sampler at the brewpub. Dark mahogany with a dense mocha head. Roasty coffee and bitter chocolate aroma and flavours, hints of cherry fruit. Dry bitter end. Probably my favourite of the bunch.

Very dark brown with a creamy tan head. Roasty milk chocolate and coffee aroma and taste. Fairly basic stout.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Roasted malty aroma with a light coffeeish note. Dry and hardroasted malt flavoured, vague liqourice note. Bitter and subdued acidic note from the roasted note. Ends dry and slight bitter.

I had this on draft at the Thirsty Bear brewpub. hmm, an Irish Stout w/ a Russian name... I thought it was thin and a bit weak.

~Pours black with diminishing brown head. ~Scent of roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate. ~Chocolate, dark fruits, and roasted malt in flavor. ~Very thin feel. Pretty disappointing, Body is way too thin. Good finish. ~Decent stout, but water like.

Decent stout. Nothing special but a good representation. Toasty and chocolate. Creamy.

Tap at the brewpub: A tan bubbly head tops a deep brown with ruby at the edges. Mild roast in the aroma with cocoa flakes. Thin yet rounded feel. The flavor has a nutty roast to it but there’s apparent diacetyl. The roasted finish is mainly composed of medium huskiness. Eh.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a black color with a tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma with some smoky hints. Roasted malty chocolate flavor with some waek smoky hints. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish.
