Commercial Description:
A deep, sable color full of roasted and black malts distinguish this silky smooth dry, Irish style stout. This beer is served with a unique blend of nitrogen and carbon dioxide gases, which gives it a smoother, more flavorful palette and a rich, creamy head without the strong bite of a highly carbonated beer.

Dark brown pour with nose and flavor of tobacco, chocolate and roasted malts. Dry finish.

Poured from tap at brewpub a black with medium small tan head. Aroma is light roast coffee and chocolate. Flavor has a bit of roast grain, coffee, chocolate and a creamy milkiness. The palate has a light smooth bitterness but finishes a touch watery. I thought this beer was good not great.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured an opaque black color with a light brown head. Tobacco, leather, and roasted nuts graced the aroma. Medium bodied with lots of roast and light lingering bitterness. I also tasted nuts and dark chocolate and occasionally some subdued mint.

On tap @ Thirsty Bear. Best of the tasting. Thick, creamy, almost velvet-like texture on the tongue. Black with cola-colored edges and milky latte-like head. Flavor is rich chocolate and roasted malt. Not overly complex but tasty.

Not a bad stout. Pours dark, cloudy and black with brownish tint. Flavor was a nice chocolate malty one, with some creaminess to the texture.

Sampled at the brew pub. Pour was very dark and aroma was rich with roasted scents. Head is pretty thick thanks to the nitro. Overall flavor and texture is very smooth with a dry finish and a nice aftertaste. Very full bodied.

Great looking deep sasparilla color with firm chocolate head. Wonderful medley of deep chocolate and dark chocolate notes in flavor and aroma. Roast is stronger in aroma than in flavor. Very creamy and definitely nitrogenated.

From June 2007 tasting notes, sampled at Thirsty Bear. Dark brown, almost black with a beige head. Lighly roasty nose with a touch of smoke. Flavor starts with roasted malt, coffee and earthiness - moderately sweet then the bottom falls out (flavorwise) and fades into watery-ness. Light bodied, a bit watery with light carbonation.
