Commercial Description:
A deep, sable color full of roasted and black malts distinguish this silky smooth dry, Irish style stout. This beer is served with a unique blend of nitrogen and carbon dioxide gases, which gives it a smoother, more flavorful palette and a rich, creamy head without the strong bite of a highly carbonated beer.

Draught sampler at the brewpub. Black body, with a small tan head. Strongly roasted aroma, with chocolate notes. The flavour is rich and deep, with layers of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and smoke. Smooth and creamy on the palate. A very good stout.

Draught at the brewpub. Pours dark brown / black with a moderate tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, some dark fruits, and hint of chocolate. Flavor is a robust malty stout, with a lot of roast and a bit of sweetness. A little bit of bitterness, and a creamy, full mouthfeel; not particularly dry imo. Quite good, though.

Slightly pulpy, cardboardy malty roasty aroma. Rich, roasty malt body, a little patenty for my tastes, but nice overall. Surprisingly sweet finish.

Malty chocolate coffee smell, with a rich black color and light brown head to the bear and thick lacing. Taste is similar to the smell, with a hint of caramel. Some bitterness, but very drinkable, creamy and a bit dry in the finish, but not too much so.

Coffe note in the nose, opaque black, creamy frothy head. Sweet for a brief second at the beginning--like dark chocolate. Then turning to a burnt charcoal taste. Creamy texture. Maybe too roasted, but fun anyway.

(On tap) Completely opaque black with a creamy, light brown head leaving laces. Lightly burned aroma. Fairly light-bodied with burned, malty accents and hints of both coffee and licorice. Dry but not overly bitter finish. A pleasant and quaffable stout. 240307

Deep brown coloured body (80% opaque) with a frothy white head, and yes, you could tell from the minute it hit the counter that it has been nitrogenated. Aroma of roasted products - malt and nuts the strongest essence. Light, Smooth bodied; Tastes of coffee and chocolate dominate the early tastes and stay long on the palate. Aftertaste shows more malt and a bit of the nuts from the smell. Overall, a good dry stout that shows well at a brewpub. I sampled this beer on draught at the brewpub on 28-February-2007.
