Dec 12, 2006 Served on tap in a english pint at the brewpub. Very enjoyable Guinness clone. One to drink over and over. The look is nice and the flavor is very smooth and milky. There’s a bitter blur in the finish. Head stays. If you like Guiness and Murphys you’ll like this.

Jul 22, 2006 On tap @ Thirsty Bear poured a clear dark brownish black with a lasting creamy brown head. Aromas of milk chocolate, a hint of coffee and light smoke. Palate was medium bodied smooth and dry. Flavors of coffee, bitter chocolate and vanilla with a smooth dry bittersweet finish.

Apr 16, 2006 Draft. Murky blackish beer with a beige head. Oatmeal(?) aroma. Oatmeal and light chocolate flavor. LIghter bodied. Some astringency at end.

Apr 5, 2006 On tap at the brewpub. Black with a dark tan head. A fantastic head it is: cascading nitrogen-induced tiny bubbles falling down. The strong aroma is of coffee and molasses. This beer has an interesting milky sourness for a dry stout. Finish gives you a strong reminder flavor of the gypsum that is in it. Delicious!

Feb 21, 2006 Near black with a nice head. The aroma has a fat roasty tang and light chocolate. The flavour is mainly the same. Pretty straightforward example, with a bit of brashness but this is not trying to win the Imperial Stout World Championships I don’t think.

Feb 15, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Dark black with small brownish head. Heavy espresso aroma and flavour. Dryish with dense mouthfeel, There’s plenty of coffee, licorice and tar all th eway through to the salty, bitter finish. Perhaps not much finesse, but it sure packs a heavy punch of flavours.

Dec 3, 2005 On tap at brewpub, cask conditioned and dry hopped, according to the sign on the cask. Really enjoyed this one as the last of 3 at the brewpub. I don’t really love nitrogen stouts, so I was happy it was on cask and the dry hopping gave it an interestingly hoppy taste for a stout. Very nice.
