Commercial Description:
A deep, sable color full of roasted and black malts distinguish this silky smooth dry, Irish style stout. This beer is served with a unique blend of nitrogen and carbon dioxide gases, which gives it a smoother, more flavorful palette and a rich, creamy head without the strong bite of a highly carbonated beer.

On tap, brewpub. Pitch black, medium nitro tan head. Strong roasted barley aroma - sweet as well. Medium watery mouthfeel. Very sweet taste, I thought this was easily a sweet stout all the way. Lots of roast as well. Apart from the watery aspect, this stout seemed somehow unique and pretty good.

On tap at the brewpub in downtown San Francisco. Tar black pour with a generous and long lasting creamy off white head and thick lacing. Aroma is pleasant, pick up some fresh lake water notes with a hint of chocolate. Very good roastiness in the flavor, with some bittersweet chocolate and coffee making prominent appearances. High lacticity makes for a very creamy and delectable mouthfeel. Very good brewpub stout.

Black colour with thin creamy chocolate brown head. Roasted malt nose with hints of coffee and chocolate. Bitter raosted malt taste with lingering bitter coffee and chocolate malt finish.

02.18.05 Black with thick brown head. Earthy, which was great, chocolate, roasty aromas betray bitterness. A touch sour, creamy (nitro). Reminds in some ways of Lancaster. Nitro sucks. Could be more bitter.

Tap. Black opaque stout with a nice moka head. Moka vanilla aroma. Dry powdered cacao with hops in finish. Slightly lactic in middle. Again, lightet bodied. (June 2004).

Tap. Dark, a little bit mahogany around the edges. Roasty, coffee...it’s almost exactly like the 21st amendment 563 stout that I had last night. Good mouthfeel.
