From June 2007 tasting notes, sampled at Thirsty Bear. Clear golden with a white head. Has a light, grassy, herbal noble hop aroma. Flavor has a malty base with a touch of light caramel, noble hops, clean lager yeast, moderately bitter, moderate residual sweetness. Has some alcohol kick too. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Reddish caramel with a white head and nice lacing. Sweet grainy nice maarzen like flavor to it and some bitterness in the finish. Decent, although not my favored style.

Draught, Thirsty Bear. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark amber. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (herbs), with notes of peach, honey, cantaloupe, light note of alcohol. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. This and especially the Marzen were the highlights of the TB experience...this brew seemed like a slightly stronger version of the Marzen, in fact, and it’s mainly the extra alcohol that makes it a bit less enjoyable for me.

Draught at the brewery. Beer is clear, medium/dark brown. Head is small, white, frothy, quickly diminishes, but mostly lasts.
The aroma is nice, but maybe a bit subdued. Moderately malty with a note of toasted grain, light notes of caramel and toasted bread crust; Hoppy with a light note of lemon zest; Light note of alcohol, trace of peach, tropical fruit and cherry.
The flavor is moderately/heavily sweet, light/moderately bitter, lightly acidic with a long, warm, lightly acidic, light/moderately sweet, lightly bitter finish.
The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.

On tap at the brewpub. Reddish amber with an off-white head. Nice trabecular lacing. Toasted honey-like aroma. Mildly floral. Medium to thick palate. A good buttery finish to the mouthfeel. Clean finishing balance. A delicious beer.

Seasonal on tap. Nice red hue with an off white head. Smooth maltiness with a big alcohol that warms the soul. If available, a must try while there
