lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Jul 23, 2007 Updated: Jul 27, 2007Pours reddish amber with a light hop smell, taste and aftertaste. Some honey sweetness in the nose too. Somewhat refreshing, thin, and decent. I guess about what I expect for the style. pivo (2535), Germany Jun 2, 2007 Clear red-amber color, frothy nitro head. Light creamy malt base with a subdued bitter towards the end. It builds on itself through the glass so that the bitter becomes more complex later on. Soft texture and a decent ESB. Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 5, 2007 (On tap) Clear, amber golden with an off-white head. Lightly sweet, nutty aroma. Medium body with a very soft mouthfeel and a low carbonation. Sweetish, lightly caramelish malt base with notes of nuts. The finish is dry without much bitterness. 240307 jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Mar 21, 2007 Deep amber coloured body with a ruby tint. Very hoppy in the nose with some stronger caramel malt playing a part as well. Medium-bodied with a very smooth taste. From the beginning, you knew this was Nitrogenated and it obviously shows off in the taste too, which is a good thing. Bitterness from the hops and structure from the malt is very noticeable in this one and it works. Aftertaste shows the english hop bitterness and it’s welcomed. I sampled this beer on draught at the brewpub on 28-February-2007. ratman197 (3137), Arvada, Colorado, USA Jul 22, 2006 On tap @ Thirsty Bear poured a clear dark amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness and a hint of citrus. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of cocoa, earthiness, toffee and carmel with a smooth lightly bitter finish. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Apr 5, 2006 On tap at the brewpub. Orange in color with an off-white head. Good head, but no aroma. Nice malty and hoppy balance to the flavor. Great money forms on the head. Super thick lacing. Strong up-front sweetness of berries. Seems to have a quick finish for such a heavy beer. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Feb 21, 2006 Dark amber with a nicely broken head. Earthy hops, bread crust malts in the nose. Fairly sweet with light diacetyl in the background. Only hints of at the hops. The body is a bit syrupy. A few days young perhaps?
